BRIDGEBUILDER™ 2019 TOP IDEAS

Today, more than 70.8 million men, women and children are forcibly displaced worldwide. This new reality is global and growing.  The opportunity for meaningful engagement is immense, and BridgeBuilder seeks to harness the hospitality and solidarity that lies within each of the 7 billion humans on the planet.

The 2019 Top Ideas are creative innovations that build on the immense opportunity to design approaches that enable people on the move to create a life of meaning, filled with hope and dignity, and to support host communities in being their most welcoming.

Selected from 450 ideas from 30,000 participants in 165 countries, these ideas represent game-changing concepts aimed at tackling one of the most pressing issues facing our world today. This year, 2017 Top Idea NaTakallam brought the ideas, perspectives and experience of people on the move to BridgeBuilder by partnering with them in as innovators, experts and reviewers. Two of the five selected ideas represent individuals with lived experience of displacement.

Each will receive a share of $1 million in funding from GHR, in addition to post-Challenge support as the teams transform these promising concepts into tangible, real-world solutions.
