GHR Foundation knows that strengthening families and deinstitutionalizing children requires pro-family child protection interventions at all levels. GHR grantee Family for Every Child recently launched its “Why Care Matters” report that explains why the care of children underpins many development goals. The report outlines:
GHR Foundation’s Andreas Hipple provided practical insight on funding inter-faith collaboration in a recent edition of The Interfaith Observer. In the piece, GHR’s senior program advisor and leader of the Inter-Religious Action Initiative highlighted the need to fund evaluation, share insights on working with inter-faith partners and advocate for greater funding of inter-religious action to support development.
GHR Foundation’s Sister Support Initiative is focused on supporting well-led and well-resourced congregations of women religious. In the United States, groups of Catholic sisters are under increased pressure to raise the funds necessary to support their ministries and aging sisters.
GHR partnered with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to fund the Advancing Mission program, developed by the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. GHR’s Kathleen Mahoney said, “we wanted [the sisters] to see fundraising as a ministry in itself.” The Non-Profit Times covered the launch of the program noting that this multi-phased training program has already resulted in increased confidence and finances for the participants.
