Matt Stowell
Controller, Bush Foundation
Matt Stowell serves as Controller at the Bush Foundation, where he plays a key role in strengthening and optimizing the foundation’s finance systems, processes, and internal controls.
With more than two decades of experience in accounting and finance, Stowell brings deep expertise in nonprofit accounting and tax compliance, developed through his work in public accounting. Over the course of his career, he has supported many of Minnesota’s largest foundations in multiple capacities, including auditor, tax advisor, and contracted CFO/controller.
Stowell recently served as treasurer for the Minnesota Council on Foundations. He is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and entrepreneurship from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
