Loren Harris
Executive Director of National Impact, Ballmer Group
Loren Harris is the Executive Director of National Impact at Ballmer Group, leading the organization’s national grantmaking strategy in support of their mission to improve economic mobility for children and families. Harris will be expanding and integrating the organization's work in key impact areas, such as early childhood, housing, workforce, and education.
Harris’s passion for increasing economic and educational opportunities is showcased throughout his work over the last two decades with leading philanthropic organizations. He began his career at the STRIVE program at the Stanley Isaacs Neighborhood Center in East Harlem, where he saw how lack of opportunity significantly impacts individuals, households, and entire communities. Harris then went on to direct robust grant portfolios and lead integrated program strategies for the Ford Foundation’s Asset Building and Community Development Program, the C.S. Mott Foundation’s Pathways Out of Poverty Program, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and the Nathan Cummings Foundation. Before joining Ballmer Group, Harris held the position of Chief Program and Strategy Officer at the Kenneth Rainin Foundation, where he was instrumental in furthering the Foundation’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, improving the Foundation’s grantmaking and operations, and cultivating spaces for new leadership opportunities at all levels. While in this role, Harris was selected as a 2019-2020 Change Leaders in Philanthropy fellow by Grantmakers for Effective Organizations. Harris serves on the Board of Visitors of Indiana University’s Lilly School of Philanthropy, which provides a bridge between philanthropic scholarship and practice. |
