Jeff Rauenhorst is the Chief Executive Officer of Mission Energy, a clean‑energy developer serving nonprofits across the United States, with more than 80% of its projects supporting the Catholic Church. Mission Energy is a trusted advisor to its clients, helping them advance their missions through the design, development, financing, and construction management of turnkey solar, storage, and energy‑efficiency projects. In this role, Rauenhorst has led the company’s expansion into more than 17 states and launched its ownership and operation of a growing portfolio of renewable‑energy assets.

Previously, Rauenhorst was part of the founding team at Vigilent, a Silicon Valley startup that pioneered the use of artificial intelligence in 2008 to dynamically control cooling systems in data centers, reducing energy consumption while improving reliability. During his ten years at Vigilent, he led several functions, including business development, operations, analytics, and customer success.

Rauenhorst has more than 23 years of experience serving on the boards of Catholic‑rooted foundations, including chairing three foundations and overseeing the merger of two. He also served on the board of the Catholic Climate Covenant, advising on the development and growth of the Catholic Energies program. He remains active in local nonprofits, participates in the Francesco Collaborative, is a member of the Holy Cross Brothers’ Laudato Si’ Committee, and serves on the Life, Peace, and Justice Committee of the Diocese of Reno.

He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
