Timothy A. Welsh

President and Executive Vice President, CCC Intelligent Solutions

Tim Welsh is the President and Executive Vice President at CCC Intelligent Solutions, a cloud-platform company supporting the insurance industry. Prior to this role, he served as Vice Chair of Consumer and Business Banking for U.S. Bank, the nation’s fifth largest bank. In this role, Welsh led a business with more than $10 billion in revenue and 20,000 colleagues.  Specifically, Welsh’s responsibilities included the overall consumer and small business strategy and product management functions, branch network, mortgage and auto lending.

Prior to joining U.S. Bank in 2017, Welsh spent more than 26 years at McKinsey & Co., specializing in financial services globally and the consumer experience.  Welsh was elected by his partners to serve on McKinsey’s Shareholders Council, the firm’s Board of Directors.  He also led McKinsey’s global Learning and Development function, as well as co-led the firm’s people strategy.

Welsh currently serves on two corporate boards.  Xcel Energy, with revenues of $15 billion, market cap about $35 billion, provides electrify and gas services in eight states, and is a leader in renewable energy.  UPSIDE Foods has received regulatory approval and sold cultivated meat in the United States. The company has raised about $600 million from leading sovereign wealth funds, VCs and strategic investors such as Cargill and Tyson to support its growth.

Throughout his career, Welsh has been deeply involved in non-profit and philanthropic efforts.  He is a founder of the Itasca Project, a dedicated team of business, government and not-for-profit leaders who work to improve the quality of life in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region.  Itasca, which recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary, has been profiled in The New York Times and in Thomas L. Friedman’s best seller “Thank You for Being Late.”

In addition, Welsh chairs the Board of Allina Health, a $5 billion non-profit healthcare system in Minnesota, also chairs the Board of the Constellation Fund, is the Lead Director of the GHR Foundation, and serves on the Board of Operation HOPE.
 
Welsh holds a master of business administration degree with distinction from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in social studies from Harvard University.
