GHR Foundation’s Sister Support Initiative is focused on supporting well-led and well-resourced congregations of women religious. In the United States, groups of Catholic sisters are under increased pressure to raise the funds necessary to support their ministries and aging sisters.
GHR partnered with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to fund the Advancing Mission program, developed by the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. GHR’s Kathleen Mahoney said, “we wanted [the sisters] to see fundraising as a ministry in itself.”
The Non-Profit Times covered the launch of the program noting that this multi-phased training program has already resulted in increased confidence and finances for the participants.
